Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji ,BAO

The ultra modern Ekiti Agro Allied International cargo Airport built under the administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi is set for commercial flights early in the new year 2026. It is located in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. The airport construction began on October 18, 2019.
Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji of Ekiti State told Selected members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors NGE on duty tour of the state that six critical areas of the infrastructure in the airport are now completely for the commercial flights to the airport.
These infrastructure are completion of the runway strip, extension of Airfield strip from 105 meters to 150 meters, Emergency operational center.

Others are Procurement of two 500 KVA generators , two fire fighting trucks, construction of fire station, procurement of airport security equipment and internal perimeter fencing.
According to the Ekiti State governor, “these critical infrastructure were needed for local and international flights who are bringing passengers for investments and tourism in the state”.
He emphasized his commitment to the six pillars of his administration namely, Governance, Youth development and Job Creation, Human capital development, Agriculture and rural development, infrastructure and Industrialisation, Arts, culture and Tourism.

After three years in the office, Governor Oyebanji told Voice of Nigeria that he has been working assiduously road rehabilitation within and outside the state to enhance the economic development of the state that is well position among three agrarian , solid minerals and tourism states of Osun, Ondo and and Kogi.

EKITI Agro Allied Airport NCAA Approval - Cargo and Agribusiness: The airport is designed to be a hub for agribusiness, facilitating the movement of farm produce both within Nigeria and internationally.
- Infrastructure: It features a 3.2 km runway, which is the fourth longest in Nigeria, and is capable of handling large, wide-bodied planes like the Boeing 737-400.
- Overall Goals: The airport is part of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s plan to transform Ekiti into a hub for agribusiness, tourism, commerce, and innovation.

- By the first quarter of next year 2026, Governor Abiodun Oyebanji is set to build 45 more chalets , an Helipad , Golf Course, International Conference Center and Games Village inside the Ikogosi Resort. He said ,
“my decision was informed by the potentials economic benefits and global attention being recorded daily by the Ikogosi Resorts. The available rooms are always over booked and the investor complained of loss of over N4 billion due to inadequate chalets” .

70 degrees Celsius at its source, and a cold spring, about 37 degree Celsius at the confluence, flow together without mixing.

- The Governor said plans have been concluded to transform Efon Alaye town into another tourism corridor with the construction of Zoological Garden and Games Village.
- He stated that a Bureau of Tourism and Investment Promotion agencies were taken away from the core ministerial bureaucracies to energise the huge potentials in tourism and investments promotion drive.

Ekiti state has a huge deposits of Lithium and other solid minerals across the state. Accordingly, government is set to establish Ilu-Eye Mining Company to fast the solid mineral development initiatives, drawing a huge lessons from the poor handing of mining activities in the neighbouring Osun State.”
