Viory News Agency has entered a strategic Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with Mali’s national public broadcaster, the Office de radiodiffusion et de télévision du Mali (ORTM).
This marks a major milestone in Viory’s expansion across West Africa—and a boost in amplifying Global South voices on the global stage.
Mali’s national broadcaster started from the radio arm in 1957 and television in 1983, called ORTM, known as “The Voice of the People,” plays a critical role in connecting and informing millions across the country in French and local languages.
Areas of Cooperation
Under the MoC, Viory and ORTM will collaborate across multiple domains:
• International and regional news coverage
• Promotion of cultural and public events
• Technical cooperation and digital innovation
• Knowledge exchange to enhance ORTM’s broadcasting capabilities
These efforts will ensure that stories from Mali and the broader West African region receive broader visibility on international platforms.
Zulayho Siddikova, General Manager of Viory, emphasized the significance of the partnership, saying it “expands our footprint in West Africa” and helps ensure that Mali’s perspectives are “represented globally.” ORTM’s reach and reputation make it “an invaluable partner” as Viory builds a diverse continental network.
A New Chapter
ORTM’s Director General, Hassane Baba Diombélé, welcomed the partnership as a “new chapter,” one that will amplify Malian narratives, broaden audiences, and enrich the diversity of media content available to viewers.
This MoC builds on Viory’s recent momentum across Africa. In recent months, the agency has signed similar agreements with Agence Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP), the OIC-States Broadcasting Union (OSBU) during the Arab Radio and Television Festival in Tunisia, and Ethiopia’s national broadcaster.
These moves illustrate Viory’s growing role in uniting media entities across the continent to promote African stories and perspectives globally.
With ORTM joining its expanding network, Viory further solidifies its presence in West Africa, elevates Mali as a cultural and media hub, and advances its mission to ensure African stories—and those of the Global South—shape the global news landscape.
Viory is equally strengthened oppurtnuities across Africa countries.https://scrummage.co.ke/2025/07/03/viory-expands-media-partnerships/
