31 career and 34 non-career ambassadors are now set for various diplomatic missions around the world, including Nigeria’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations.
A statement issued by the Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, said ”The President has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately commence an induction programme for the ambassadors-designate and high commissioners ahead of their deployment.”
According to the statement, the United Kingdom has already granted agreement for Nigeria’s High Commissioner-designate, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, while France has also issued agreement for Ambassador Ayo Oke.

The Presidency noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formally communicated the nominations of the other 62 designated envoys to their respective host countries and requested the necessary agreements in line with established diplomatic procedures.
The appointments are expected to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement, promote strategic partnerships, and advance the country’s foreign policy priorities across key regions of the world.
