
The Nigerian security forces has launched a coordinated security response in Kebbi State following the abduction of 25 students of the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State Northwest of the country.
According Voice Of Nigeria Correspondent, ground and air assets to locate students and reinforce the safety of the region have been deployed.
In the early hours of Monday, the school premises in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area was the scene of an attack by armed individuals.
The Kebbi State Police Command, in an official statement, confirmed that its tactical teams have been deployed to the school.

Causalities
Tragically, the Vice Principal of the school, Hassan Makuku, lost his life during the gun battle over the abduction of the students . A staff member, Ali Shehu, sustained an injury and is receiving medical attention.
Preliminary reports indicate that a number of students were moved from the location by the attackers.
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M. Sani, is personally overseeing the operation.
“Our forces are tirelessly combing the surrounding forests and routes to ensure the safe return of the students and bring the perpetrators to justice,“ he stated.
Assurances
CP Sani praised the bravery of the initial responder team and urged the public to remain calm and supportive, noting that community cooperation is vital to the success of ongoing security efforts.
The Kebbi State Government has also assured citizens of its full commitment. In a statement, the Senior Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Alhaji Abdullahi Zuru, said,
“The government, in close partnership with federal security agencies, is utilizing all available resources to resolve this situation swiftly and safely. The safety of our children and the security of our communities remain our utmost priority.”
