Dangote Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria begins production of new Peugeot 3008 and 5008 models at Kaduna Plant. New models will further extend the brand’s offering to local customers, joining the Peugeot Landtrek – a pickup truck. Offered in Allure and flagship GT trims, the new 3008 and 5008 range are powered by a 1.6‑litre THP petrol engine.
Peugeot’s parent company, Stellantis, has announced the start of production of the at DPAN (Dangote Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria Limited) Greenfields plant at Kaduna.
When the first vehicles go on sale this month, these two new models will further extend the brand’s offering to local customers, joining the Peugeot Landtrek – a pickup truck that is already on sale in Nigeria. Offered in Allure and top‑of‑the‑range GT trims, the new Peugeot 3008 and 5008 range are powered by a 1.6‑litre THP petrol engine developing 163 hp, paired with the EAT6 automatic transmission.

DPAN was established six years ago through a joint venture between Dangote Industries Limited and PEUGEOT – one of the flagship brands within the Stellantis portfolio – as a commitment to local manufacturing.
Commenting on the start of production, DPAN commercial director, Umar Kaita, said:
“PEUGEOT was a household name in Nigeria from the 1940s to the 1980s and this local production will see the re-emergence of the (PEUGEOT) Lion in the Nigerian landscape once again.”
Key Aspects of Dangote Peugeot DPAN
- Establishment: Following a 2016 acquisition, the plant was re-established by the Dangote Group, the Kaduna State Government, and the Bank of Industry to boost local vehicle manufacturing.
- Assembly Models: The Kaduna factory officially began operations by assembling the Peugeot 301 and has expanded to include the 3008 SUV GT, 5008, 508, and the Landtrek pickup.
- Production Capacity: The plant is designed to assemble up to 120 vehicles daily, aiming for 100,000 cars annually to meet Nigerian and African market demands.
- Significance: This venture reduces dependence on imported vehicles and directly competes in the Nigerian automotive market, challenging brands like Innoson.
- Facility Location: The assembly plant is located in Kaduna, Kaduna State, contributing to industrial development and job creation in the region.
