The Jollof Rice is ready
Nigerian Hilda Baci , one of the world’ s best cooks is set for another global cooking record with the biggest pot of Jollof Rice.
This will be her second attempt at a world record, the at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.
The event held for a brand-new Guinness World Record. It attracted over 20,000 crows of food enthusiasts, celebrities, and influencers.
The starter
Before she started cooking, Baci washed the pot to confirm to her fans on social media that the pot was “clean” because she had personally washed it.
According to her , she had carefully calculated the process to ensure the jollof’s authenticity. Also, she “applied some mathematics” and continue to monitor it as it cooked to make sure “everything was right”.
The world celebrity chef started cooking, in the note of spirituality with Pastor Bolaji Idowu, of Harvesters Church.

The pot was dried and all over 240 bags of long grain rice were prepared for cooking
Most importantly, the latest achievement reinforced Hilda’s reputation as a record-breaking innovator. She had set a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual in 2023. That cooking lasted 93 hours and 11 minutes.
Since her “Cookathon,” as she called it, her daring spirit has inspired many similar attempts.
A Celebrity Cockathon
At 6:00am of Saturday, Baci had invited Nigerian residence in Lagos to the event, for celebrations and free jollof rice distribution.
The announcement, offered people the opportunity to witness history and participate in a cultural celebration.
Also, Nigerian multiple award-winning filmmaker Funke Akindele was at hand to support Baci.

The filmmaker energised the crowd with some dance steps alongside other celebrities and musicians.
Hilda Baci Gets Commendations
The Nigerian government through the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mallam Muhammad Idris Malagi, has commended Hilda Baci for making Nigeria proud again through her cooking prowess.
Also, the Minister said the celebrity chef, Hilda Baci’s attempt to create a Guinness World Record for the largest pot of jollof rice was a rear show of dedication and perseverance, as well as a testament to Nigerian excellence.
Furthermore, he highlighted her meticulous preparation and commitment to hygiene standards, emphasising that her ambition inspires young Nigerians.

The government pledged its support for Baci’s endeavor and similar projects showcasing Nigerian talent on the world stage.
Also, the minister conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s well-wishes for Baci’s success. He emphasises that her achievement would be celebrated as a national victory.
“Her dedication to excellence and her unrelenting pursuit of greatness exemplify the Nigerian spirit that the world has come to appreciate,” he said through the Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo.
