Late Missionary and Barrister Muhammad Robiu Uthman, was the Circuit Missionary Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria, Badagry Circuit. He passed- on to the great beyond in the early hours of Monday 5th July,2026, after a brief illness.
I had been contacted on Sunday evening for his medical transfer from Ahmadiyya Muslim Hospital Ojokoro to the Lagos State Teaching Hospital, LASUTH. I was waiting for his movement for another round of medical services. Alas, His time was up.
Remarkably, he lived a fulfilling life as a Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria and a Barrister at Law(Islamic and Common Law).
He, was well devoted to Islamic scholarship in all ramifications. His recitation of the Holy Quran was eloquent, his lectures delivery was extra – ordinary. The communication aura in English and Yoruba was excellent.
He surely took Badagry and its environs by storm in preaching activities.
Late Missionary Uthman Robiu offered his life and time to serve humanity as a Missionary and a Lawyer.
Badagry was his forte (abode) workplace for about 30 years. He was instrumental to weekend Tahajjud prayers, Tabligh sessions across the nooks and crannies of Badagry environs.
I met him in Badagry in 1996 as a young family man. He conducted the Aqiqah ceremonies for my four children in 1996,1998,2000 and 2024.
When I was away for further studies in the UK in 2002 and at Babcock ilishan Remo for PhD, Missionary Uthman Robiu always offered special prayers for me and my family.
He cared for the Jamaat members spiritual and matrimonial needs when the need arises.
The former Amir Alhaji Hussein Sunmonu accepted my reports and requests for late Uthman Robiu to finish his Law Degree at the University of Ilorin, all expenses paid.
The Journey started with studies at the Nigerian Visually Impaired (Blind) School at Oshodi to cater for his Visual disability and full grasp of Braille services.
He came out in flying colours and committed himself to the Jamaat Missionary activities and offer legal advice when called upon.
I watched a repeat of his last broadcast on MTA International Africa on “Stories of Devotion”.
Late Missionary Muhammad Robiu Uthman was cool, calm and calculated.
He has a magnetic brain that gave him precision on time, place and speaking prowess.
