The Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has kept hope alive for all Nigerians at the celebration of the Muslim annual festival of sacrifice -Eid Adha.

He defended his administration’s economic reforms, insisting that recent policy measures are beginning to stabilise the economy and position Nigeria for long-term growth.

In a Sallah message released ahead of Eid-el-Kabir, the President acknowledged the hardship triggered by reforms such as the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market but maintained that they were necessary steps to rebuild the economy.

He stated that the government’s focus remains on creating a stronger economic foundation capable of driving investment and job creation across the country.

“The reforms we have undertaken are challenging but necessary to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for future generations,” Tinubu said.

He added that early signs of progress were already visible in the economy, expressing optimism about the country’s direction despite recent public hardship.

“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here.” He described the current phase as one of recovery and gradual stability.

The President also addressed ongoing security concerns, noting that while security agencies have recorded gains, attacks by terrorists and bandits continue in some communities.

He assured citizens that government efforts to combat insecurity remain active and sustained.

Tinubu urged Nigerians to embrace the values of sacrifice, unity, and compassion during the festive period, while calling for prayers and support for vulnerable groups across the country.
