President Tinubu and Kenyan president
The Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has canvassed for stronger Intra – African collaborations and strategic partnerships across the continent, at the ongoing Africa Forward Summit, in Kenya. The theme of the summit was “Africa–France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth”.
Against this backdrop, the Nigerian President had bilateral meetings with cross section of African leaders notably Kenya, and Madagascar
On the sidelines of the summit, bilateral talks President Tinubu and President of Madagascar, Colonel Michael Randrianirina focused on exploring avenues for strengthening diplomatic and economic cooperation between Nigeria and Madagascar, towards accelerating economic growth, expanding trade opportunities, and promoting innovation-driven development across the continent.
He highlighted Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms and his administration’s commitment to creating a more stable and investment-friendly business environment.
The summit, co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, brought together Heads of State, policymakers, investors, and business leaders to deliberate on key issues, including energy transition, industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and reforms of the global financial architecture.
Strengthening The Football Ecosystem
Similarly, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, also held a bilateral meeting with President Tinubu on the sidelines of the summit.
In a post on its X handle, CAF said its president discussed with the Nigerian leader ways to strengthen collaboration between governments, the football ecosystem, and the private sector to drive development initiatives in Nigeria and across Africa.
It stated, “CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe and the Nigerian Head of State, His Excellency Bola Tinubu, met today on the sidelines of the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi. They discussed several topics, particularly cooperation between government, football, and the private sector in Nigeria and Africa.”
The Africa Forward Summit, themed “Africa–France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth”, is expected to produce new commitments aimed at deepening cooperation between African nations and global partners in critical sectors of development.
