The event, scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, marks the first time a Kenyan head of state will deliver such a speech before the country’s legislature.
The Roll Call
According to a statement from the Tanzania’s Deputy Speaker Daniel Sillo, Members of Parliament, senior national leaders in the country will attend the session at 11am local time.
The address is expected to underscore deepening ties between Kenya and Tanzania, signalling efforts to strengthen regional cooperation.
“I have an announcement from the Clerk of Parliament. The Clerk of Parliament announces to Honourable Members of Parliament: Honourable Members, you are hereby informed that on Wednesday, 5 May 2026, His Excellency Dr William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, will address the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania from eleven o’clock in the morning”. The Deputy Speaker stated.
