
The Ethiopian Ambassador to Nigeria His excellency Legesse Geremew Haile has rekindled the the commitments of his country to promoting of African renaissance in all areas of human and material development.
Speaking with the Director General ,Voice of Nigeria and his management team in Abuja, during a courtesy visit, Ambassador Legesse Haile said Ethiopia has demonstrated this commitment through promotion of African interests within the continent and globally.
He cited various cooperation with African countries fighting colonialism and economic deprivation.
According to him, the inauguration of the largest hydropower project in Africa, is monumental infrastructure designed and constructed by Webuild.
This marks the beginning of a new era for the country, placing it at the heart of the continent’s green transition.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Pietro Salini, Chief Executive of Webuild, alongside Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and the Heads of State of African countries that share with Ethiopia, a common goal of growth and unity.
Collaboration With Voice of Nigeria
His excellency Legesse Geremew Haile, appreciated the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Ethiopia over years and pledged to provide opportunities for joint exchange programmes between Voice of Nigeria and the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation.

He said that African countries must tell their positive stories to the outside through cooperation and joint content creation.
“Both Nigeria and Ethiopia have everything in common , as regional leaders, most populous countries, multicultural and working towards economic emancipation of the their citizens”.
Earlier, the Director General ,Voice of Nigeria , Mallam Baba Jubrin Ndace has solicited for strategic partnership between VON and the Ethiopian broadcasting counterpart in areas of exchange programmes and capacity building.
Mutual Beneficial Relationship
The DG VON said these collaborations among would promote economic of scale, professionalism and sustainable growth of continental information dissemination as envisage by the African Union of Broadcasting,AUB.
Meanwhile, Mallam Ndace requested for a VON correspondent to be embedded in AU secretariat through the assistance of the Ethiopian government and the African Union. He said this would ensure adequate and efficient reportage of memorable events in Ethiopia and the African Union Secretariat.

“VON wants to report live from Ethiopia and the AU Secretariat. We want a Correspondent to be embedded in your country and AU secretariat. Africa has to do PR itself through its media outlets for positive reportage of development initiatives, use the media to counter misinformation, disinformation and fake news”. Mallam Ndace stated.
Commitment
In furtherance of Ethiopia commitment, Ambassador Legesse Haile promised to work on these requests soonest and come up with a memorandum of understating between the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation and Voice of Nigeria.
